Roger G. Carrillo, MD, is Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL. Prior to joining the University of Miami, Dr. Carrillo spent 16 years at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. He earned his medical degree at the University of Panama Medical School and completed general surgery and cardiothoracic residencies at the University of Miami and a mitral valve fellowship at Broussais Hospital (France). His research and clinical interests include laser lead extraction, surgical electrophysiology, and cell phone-pacemaker electromagnetic interference. Dr. Carrillo has been published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm, Journal of Cardiac Surgery, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, and other peer-reviewed journals.
