Dr. Kutalek is Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine (Division of Cardiology), Pharmacology and Physiology at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He is also Director of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Associate Chief of the Division of Cardiology at Drexel, where he runs a successful electrophysiology fellowship program. Dr. Kutalek earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed his internship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and his residency and fellowship at Hahnemann University Hospital. Dr. Kutalek is a national expert in lead extraction and places in the top tier in the U.S. for the number of lead extractions successfully performed. His clinical and research interests include pacemakers and new defibrillators, lead extraction and revision, metabolic aspects of rate-responsive cardiac pacing, and antiarrhythmic medications. Dr. Kutalek has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Critical Care Medicine, Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology.
